Deep in a canyon at the base of a reservoir in the Los Padres National Forest, we designed two houses for the Montecito Water District's dam keeper to replace the houses burned in the Thomas fire. Nestled under the native Oak trees, the simple roof form wraps around the living space, protecting it from the elements and wildfires. Large windows and doors connect the interior spaces to the riparian oak forest and creek. The building is robust, beautiful and blends nicely into the landscape. Completed in 2018
